Amendment X
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.
That amendment was intended to protect Alabama's rights from people who don't live there, like you.

Alabama's own court made the decision. If you recall, the Supreme Court wouldn't even listen to the case.
Paco didn't have anything to do with it either.

I agree that he should have been removed, because Alabama's court decided against him and he refused to obey. I disagree with their ruling, as it's based on a corrupted interpretation of the constitution, but it should remain Alabama's right to decide what to do in this case...and it did. Their business shouldn't remain in the hands of Paco, who's states away. The 10th amendment is the forgotten one.

For clarification, here's what p****d me off about this case.
1. Judge puts 10 commandments monument in Alabama State Court. Alabama State Court does not complain.
2. He is sued by the ACLU for being in violation of the first amendment, which states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion." Obviously no religion was established and congress especially did not establish one. Additionally, the 10th amendment, which states "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people." guarnatees the state to do as it wishes.
3. A federal court makes a bogus ruling that the monument is somehow unconstitutional...supposedly in violation of the first amendment.
4. At this point the entire Alabama court should have taken Moore's lead and simply said, "too bad" as their rights are guaranteed by the 10th amendment. Any action by the federal government at this point would be unconstitutional. But they didn't. They backed down, which was a big defeat for state's rights.
5. Even though Alabama chickened out, Moore should have acquiesced at this point. Instead he decided to exercise civil disobedience. This, in my opinion, was perfectly reasonable, knowing that he would be removed for his actions.
6. He was removed, to the loss of peoples' rights everywhere. This was an appropriate action by the Alabama court given the ultimate situation. However, once again the ACLU chips away our rights as Americans and we willingly hand them over to a growing judicial oligarchy.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Anyone taking a stand against the legal system by pleading Christian values that gets this much national media attention will surely be taken care of by one Bush or another.

Hmm, after I changed the point of the post, that quotation doesn't make as much sense in context. Oh well. I was going to say something about the fact that the 'laws' set down by the 10 commandments had already become an integral part of human society thousands of years before someone thought to write them down on a tablet and call it the will of God.
