What's the point if DVD source is 720x480 or something?

Yes. I'm not gonna spend 100 bucks on a cable and more cash on a player til I know if it's really worth it, visually.

Buy a generic for now, just any regular DVD player with component outputs, my JVC was 120, matches my TV, and plays everything I have ever put into it except a PAL DVD.
What are you wanting links to exactly? Blu Ray stuff?

Yeah I've had this for around 2 1/2 yrs now... PAL wasn't a concern to me really at the time. My next one will do it though.

Should have gotten one that supports 720p, thats pretty much the best picture you can get right now. Progressive scan is alot better then interlaced from my personal experiences, My voom satelite is capable of both 1080i and 720p, my tv supports both so i played around a bit and found 720p to be best. Its funny, movies on the HD channels from my satelite look better then my 480p DVD player....
